"Drop your left shoulder a bit—that's it—OK, now turn your head and look at me—great—chin down a bit..." isn't the way I do family photography. I let the moment unfold naturally and grab it pure—as it happens.

Don't Say Cheese. That dreaded "cheese" word is responsible for the vast majority of drab family portraits in the world today.
Each session is an experiment that cannot be mistaken for the normal classical studio approach. While they often do produce a nice portrait, classical studio portraits tend to blend in with all the others that we see. It takes more time, but the result is a more candid, realistic, pure moment.
You've got a Baby Bump!
As far as I'm concerned, there is nothing more beautiful than a "Baby Bump". When Demi Moore busted out on the cover of Vanity Fair with her maternity shot, I stood up and applauded.
I never understood hiding behind those outfits that are what I call maternity tents. Your belly is beautiful and needs to be celebrated.
Again, it's something different—An effort to capture the beauty of what's truly amazing—something that will be passed on for generations.
